Moving Clients from Mindless Myths to Meaning at Midlife
Presented by Helen Harkness

Helen Harkness, Ph.D. has focused on career coaching since the mid ‘70’s after she faced the reality that with a dime and a Ph.D. in English, she could get a cup of coffee. She is author of Best Jobs for the Future, The Career Chase, Don't Stop the Career Clock and Capitalizing on Career Chaos published by Davies Black and is currently completing the manuscript Moving from Mindless Myths to Meaning and Money at Midlife.

At our September HCA Meeting via webinar, Helen will address the “Aging Myth” and how to overcome it as you coach clients that are midlife and beyond. Helen’s session will define current career myths, assumptions, realities and the dramatic changes that can happen. She will help us identify current realities that are shifting and the ones that we consider unchangeable. Career Design Associates, Inc. launched 1979. Since this time she has worked with more than 10,000 adults with major career issues.  Her goal is to provide clients with the process, the tools, insight, information and contacts to determine the career purpose they can pursue with passion.

Helen is an active member of the World Future Society; she has coordinated the free career counseling at their annual conference for years. (Any career coach interested in attending can volunteer to provide career coaching and get their registration fee waived.)  For more information visit Helen’s Website at www.career-design.com

In addition to Helen's talk on Moving Clients from Mindless Myths to Meaning at Midlife, Kim Specker will facilitate 15 minutes of learning on ICF Core Competency #6:  Powerful Questioning.
